You can see the tread on this one’s a whole lot better than the other one.... Now we’re just going to put on the final drive. Just kind of pop it back into place. I did grease up these gears just a little bit…just kind of wiped off the old grease It’s pretty hard to find a truck box that will fit Tacomas. I have a 1998 two door Tacoma with an extende… and threw on some new ones. That’s about where we’re at right now.
Make sure you toss some grease on the axle as well. So as far as getting the wheel back up into place, it’s kind of a little dance you haveto do to make sure everything lines up right. The first thing I do is make sure this shaft right here is lined up with this hole andit kind of, you know, angles that way. Once that’s in place…here on this side you have to make sure that this is lined upcorrectly so it slips up over this notch. Hi, I’m Ann, and today I’m going to talk to you about decorating with a Cape Cod feel or style. When you … Then the caliper goes on and connects to this. And once those are in place, then you can start to angle the splines on that shaft onthe other side into the engine itself.
And how you get…like you saw on the other end of the spines, there’s kind of likelittle teeth that have to mesh in with the other part of it. So you kind of spin the engine…no sorry, you spin the wheel which turns that shaftright there, which makes it so the splines line up. So you kind of have to lift up, twist it and push in at the same time. Anyway, so that’s the dance you have to do. And now I’m just kind of putting all the bolts in by hand, making sure everything linesup right. Then once all the bolts are in and the tire’s in the right position, I’ll tighten themall down.
