Alright so today we’re going to do a fuel filter change on a Jeep Wrangler. It’s a ’91, it’s one of the YJs. The fuel filter itself is right up underneath this back tire right there on the driver side. Ok so over here is the fuel filter. There’s the tire and fuel filter.
The question is often asked, nowadays, mostly of young people but when do people need financial services…. Basically you got to get this bolt out. It’s a 10 millimeter on the top and the bottom. And these connections have little screws on them that you got to unclamp. So that’s just your flat head screw driver. And same thing down inside of there on both sides. So this one’s been here for a while as you can tell. From what I’ve read online you should change this thing about every year or so kind ofdepending on how much you drive.
But every year seems about standard for fuel filters. DIY Water Marble Room Decor. How to Make Stickers at Home! Alright so the arrow always points in the direction the fuel is going so that’s headingtowards the engine. So always point the arrow towards the engine. Here are the connectors for it. You can kind of see…I’ll get a better view of those. The top part of that bracket just clips in.
Right here…so that part just clips in the little hole. And then keep some paper towels nearby because it does leak gas. It’ll leak probably about, I don’t know, three fourths of a cup. Nothing too much. Alright I’m going to pop the new one in that hose right there. That’s what it looks like. So I got both ends screwed into place on either side of the fuel filter.
And I got this bolted back down in. One more thing is as you are…when you go to turn on the car again it’s going to takea while for the pump to get pressure from the gas line. So it’s going to turn over more than it usually does. But it finally starts up after about, you know, 5 or 10 seconds. Alright so that’s how you change the fuel filter on a Jeep Wrangler.
